COLUMBUS, GA (WRBL) - A Columbus food bank is giving back in a major way.
Feeding the Valley is hosting an event Thursday called "The Big Gobble." The event is set for early Thursday morning.
It brings in hundreds of volunteers to serve and package meals for residents throughout Columbus who are in need of a Thanksgiving meal.
Director of Operations Steve Watson says the food bank's primary goal is to take care of people who need it the most.
"Hungry doesn't take a break. Its every month of the year not just during the holidays. If you're hungry we just want to take care of you. Our partner agencies are going to take care of you," says Watson.
Watson also says they are expected to deliver at least 1,500 meals Thursday morning.
