Columbus police have just released a description for a suspect and vehicle connected to a shooting on Stuart Drive that left a father and his 3-year-old son dead.
CPD says 41-year-old Joseph Banks was last seen with an unidentified black male leaving a Victory Drive motel at about 1:00 a.m. Tuesday. They reportedly left in Banks' white pickup truck, which is now listed as stolen.
The description of that vehicle is as follows:
- 2004 Ford F150 short bed, extended cab pickup truck
- White in color
- Rear bumper is partially hanging off
- Front bumper is dented
- Georgia Tag: PXY 8563
Anyone with information on the shooting or on the location of the pickup truck is asked to call 911 or Columbus Police Department homicide detectives at 706-225-4363.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) -- Columbus police confirm two people are dead following a south Columbus shooting. News 3 was first on the scene early Tuesday morning as police blocked off a portion of Stuart Drive for close to six hours.
Major J.D. Hawk tells News 3 officers were first called to the scene around 8:30 a.m. Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Freeman Worley confirms 41-year-old Joseph "JoJo" Banks and his 3-year-old son. He says the two were found on the opposite ends of the driveway at 6 Stuart Drive.
Worley says the child's identity is being withheld at the request of his mother.
CPD confirms the case is being treated as a homicide investigation.
